Courtney Act – to host a brand new dating show called The Bi Life
Courtney Act is set to host a brand new dating show called The Bi Life. Coming to E! in the UK and Ireland this October, the ten-part series will focus on a group of bisexual, pansexual, fluid and questioning single British individuals on the “ultimate adventure to find love”.
RuPaul’s Drag Race finalist and Celebrity Big Brother winner Courtney Act, has landed her very own late night talk show on Channel 4. The Courtney Act Show has been hailed as the world’s very first ‘dragazine’ show and will feature musical numbers and celebrity guests, who will discuss topics ranging from politics and popular culture with the Aussie superstar. Channel 4’s commissioning editor, Sarah Lazenby, said: “As entertaining as she is emotionally intelligent, as savvy as she is sassy, Courtney was born to perform.
“As if this summer hasn’t been hot enough, we decided to crank it up another notch with The Bi Life on E! It’s high time there was a dating show for a large number of young people today, like me, who are attracted to more than one gender,” said Cortney. “In 2018 we know that sexuality is fluid and sharing the stories and experiences, the laughter and the lovemaking, of young bi people, is so important. So get ready to see the true stories of bisexual singles, who are the largest part of the LGBTQ+ community, but the least known.”
The Bi Life will see the group of British singletons live together, party together, and help each other navigate the dating world as a bisexual+ people, all while sharing their life experiences as an often erased part of the LGBTQ community. E! has ordered the series from Monkey, the creators of Made In Chelsea and The Real Housewives Of Cheshire. “The Bi Life is a modern dating show for a modern generation of daters and E! is the perfect home for it,” said Monkey’s Ros Coward, who’ll be executive producing the show, describing it as “long overdue”.
It’s the second show Courtney will have under her belt! Sarah Lazenby, commissioning editor of Channel 4 said: “As entertaining as she is emotionally intelligent, as savvy as she is sassy, Courtney was born to perform”. Congratulations! You go gurrl.
